Learning spaces are equipped with an Extron push-button A/V control panel interface.
- To start the system, press the lectern's control panel interface on button.
- Select the source. The default is PC, the room's computer.
- Remember to turn off the system when finished.
If control panel is unresponsive:
- Check mute button is not selected on A/V control panel interface.
- Contact ITS Help Desk.
Learning spaces are equipped with dual lectern computer monitors and a single projector/screen.
- The system will use the lectern computer's extended monitor as its default source to be projected on the screen.
- To view or project an alternate source, such as Solstice, Doc Cam, USB-C, or HDMI, select the corresponding option on the A/V control panel interface.
If you encounter an unresponsive projector:
- Check that the mute button is not selected on the A/V control panel interface.
- Press the space bar on the computer keyboard to view the main display.
- Log in with your HawkID & password and remember to log off.
- The main computer display will not be projected (only the extended display is sent to projection/display); additionally, the main computer display is an annotation capable touch screen.
If you can't access the computer’s log in menu:
- Make sure the A/V system is not muted.
- Check that the computer monitor is on.
- Check that the HDMI/display port cable is connected on the back of monitor.
Computer/web-conferencing USB microphones are typically mounted on the media lecterns and connected to the computer monitor USB hubs.
If you find a microphone that doesn't work:
- Select microphone (USB audio CODEC) as the audio input device in Zoom, UICapture (Panopto), Skype, or Teams.
- Unplug and re-plug the cable on the back of the USB microphone.
- Make sure that the USB cable is firmly connected.
Learning spaces are equipped with in-room audio output from the lectern computer through ceiling- or wall-mounted speakers that are controlled with the A/V control panel interface.
- A/V control panels have a volume knob; slowly turn the knob to right to increase the volume, and slowly turn the knob to the left to decrease the volume.
- Press the mute button on the A/V control panel interface to control audio and screen muting.
If you can't produce in-room audio with the A/V system on:
- Check that the computer, application, or website audio is not muted.
- Increase the audio level of the computer, device, application, or the A/V control panel interface.
- Select ExtronScalerD (HD Audio Driver for Display Audio) as the speaker or audio source on the device and in Zoom, UICapture (Panopto), Skype, or Teams.
Computer/web-conferencing USB cameras are typically mounted on the media lecterns and connected to the computer monitor USB hubs. Cameras on flexible mounts may be re-positioned as needed.
If you find a USB camera that doesn't work:
- Select the Huddly Go as the camera input or source in the lectern computer's Zoom, UICapture (Panopto), Skype, or Teams.

- Select HDMI as the display input or source on the A/V control panel interface.
- Not all HDMI adapters work with every device and the A/V system. We recommend testing the HDMI connection in advance.
If you can't produce in-room video or audio with the A/V system on and not muted, and HDMI is selected:
- Increase the A/V control panel audio level.
- Toggle the mute button on the control panel interface.
