This learning space is equipped with an Extron digital touchscreen A/V control panel interface.
- To start the A/V system, touch the lectern's control panel interface screen.
- Remember to shut down the system when finished.
If you encounter an unresponsive A/V control panel interface:
- Check that the video mute button is not selected.
- Click quick reset by pressing power then the quick reset button.
- Restart the interface.
This learning space is equipped with dual lectern computer monitors and a single projector/screen.
- By default, the system will use the lectern computer's monitor as its source.
- To view an alternate source, such as PC extend, Solstice, doc cam, HDMI, or Blu-Ray, select accordingly on the A/V control panel interface.
If you encounter an unresponsive projector:
- Check that the video mute button is not selected on the interface.
This learning space is equipped with unique room modes that are controlled by the A/V control panel interface. The three room modes available in this learning space are single, projector and monitor, and full.
- Single mode source selections will go to all displays.
- Projector and monitor allows projector and left monitor source selection.
- Full allows the user to select input for each projector or monitor.
- Reset will return it to default where all displays are on, showing the PC and the audio is not muted.
This learning space is equipped with a Windows Desktop workstation computer.
- Press the space bar on the computer keyboard to view the main display.
- Log in with your HawkID and password.
- Log out when finished.
If you can't access the computer’s login menu:
- Make sure the A/V system is not muted.
- Check that the computer monitor is on.
- Check that the HDMI/display port cable is connected to the back of the monitor.
- Restart the computer.
The lectern microphone is typically mounted on the media lectern. This microphone provides audio input for the room's speakers and the lectern computer and its Zoom, UICapture (Panopto), and Skype applications.
- By default, the lectern microphone is on. A green light indicates that the microphone is not muted.
- The lectern microphone can be muted on the base of the microphone.
- The direction of the microphone can be adjusted to accommodate the speaker.
If you encounter a computer microphone that doesn't work:
- Select Speakerphone Echo Canceling Speakerphone (TesiraFORTE) as the audio input device in Zoom, UICapture (Panopto), or Skype applications.
- Check that the lectern microphone is not muted.
This learning space is equipped with wireless lavaliere and handheld microphones. Wireless microphones provide audio input for the room's speakers and the lectern computer and its Zoom, UICapture (Panopto), Skype, and Teams applications.
- Turn on microphone using the on/off switch or by holding the power button.
- When finished, turn off microphone and ensure it is properly placed in charging dock.
If you encounter a wireless microphone that doesn't work:
- Check the microphone display for power and mute.
- Select Echo Canceling Speakerphone (TesiraFORTE) as the audio source device in the lectern computer's Zoom, UICapture (Panopto), Skype, or Teams.
This learning space is equipped with a wall-mounted PTZ camera that can be re-positioned with the A/V control panel interface.
- Press the camera button on the A/V control panel interface to access options.
If you find a USB camera that doesn't work:
- Select PTZ Optics Camera as the camera input or source in the lectern computer's Zoom, UICapture (Panopto), or Skype applications.
This learning space is equipped with in-room audio output from the lectern computer through ceiling-mounted speakers that are controlled with the A/V control panel interface.
- The A/V control panel interface has touchscreen volume buttons. Press the volume up button to increase the volume, and press the volume down button to decrease the volume.
- Press the audio mute button on the A/V control panel interface to mute audio.
If you can't produce in-room audio from lectern computer with the A/V system on and not muted:
- Check that the computer, device, application, or website audio is not muted.
- Increase the audio level of the computer, device, application, website, or A/V control panel interface.
- Select the ExtronScalerD (Intel(R) Display Audio) as the speaker or audio playback source in the lectern computer and its Zoom, UICapture (Panopto), or Skype applications.
- Select Blu-Ray as the display input or source on the A/V control panel interface.
- Press the eject or open/close button on the Blu-Ray media player disc tray or the A/V control panel interface to load a disc.
- The Blu-Ray media player may be controlled with the A/V control panel interface or by remote control, which is typically near the Blu-Ray media player or in the A/V rack drawer.
If you can't produce in-room video and audio from Blu-Ray media player with the A/V system on and not muted and Blu-Ray selected:
- Increase the A/V control panel interface audio.
- Toggle the video mute button on the A/V control panel interface.
- Toggle the mute button on the Blu-Ray remote if available.
- Restart the A/V system.
- If the disc is a DVD, you may attempt to play it through the lectern computer's DVD drive.
This learning space is equipped with a document camera.
- Select doc cam as the display input or source on the A/V control panel interface.
- The document camera should automatically power on.
If the document camera can't be projected with the A/V system on and not muted and doc cam selected on the A/V control panel interface:
- Check that the document camera has power. Typically, the power button light should turn green when on.
- Check that the output cables are connected.
- Toggle the video mute button on the A/V control panel interface.
- Restart the A/V system.
This learning space is equipped with an HDMI cable to display HDMI-capable devices.
- To display an HDMI-capable personal device, connect the HDMI cable on the media lectern to the personal device's HDMI-port.
- Select HDMI as the display input or source on the A/V control panel interface.
- Not all HDMI adapters work with every device and the A/V system. We recommend testing the HDMI connection in advance.
If you can't produce in-room video or audio through HDMI with the A/V system on and not muted and HDMI selected:
- Increase the A/V control panel audio level.
- Toggle the video mute button or the audio mute button on the control panel interface.
- Restart the A/V system.
This learning space is equipped with Solstice wireless collaboration and content sharing platform.
- Select Solstice as the source on the A/V control panel interface.
If Solstice can't be projected with the A/V system on and not muted and Solstice selected on the A/V control panel interface:
- Contact the ITS Help Desk.
