Digital Desk, the current solution for Scantron bubble sheets, will be decommissioned, and the Exam Scoring service will be replaced with Gradescope Bubble Sheets for fall 2024. This change is part of the Office of Teaching, Learning, and Technology’s ongoing commitment to enhance the educational tools offered by the University of Iowa and was made after interviewing instructors, speaking with governance committees, and performing a service review.
Instructors can continue to use the Copy Center to pick up copies of the bubble sheet exam forms and bring their completed student exams back for scanning. After scanning the exams, the Copy Center will email the scanned exam PDF file to the instructor’s University of Iowa email or share the file with them via University of Iowa OneDrive. The PDF file can be uploaded into the Gradescope Bubble Sheet assignment for auto-grading and feedback. When administering exams to students, it is important for students to write their name and university ID number clearly and legibly to allow Gradescope to more accurately auto-assign and grade exams effectively.
To learn more about how to use Gradescope Bubble Sheets, register for the next training on Thursday, June 20, from 11 a.m. to noon in College of Pharmacy Building 210.
