This guide shows how to calibrate the Wacom graphic drawing tablet monitor in a University Classroom. Select classrooms are equipped with this monitor type to help facilitate teaching and learning.
Wacom Desktop Center App
Windows workstations with Wacom graphic drawing monitors should have the Wacom Tablet Properties app installed. Wacom Desktop Center app should be open by default upon login. With Wacom Desktop Center app open, click on the Pen calibration under Settings. If not opened by default, search for Wacom Desktop Center app under the Windows Start menu and open.
If you encounter an unresponsive Wacom Desktop Center app, shutdown and restart workstation. If you encounter a missing Wacom Desktop Center app, contact the ITS Help Desk.
Calibrating the Wacom Desktop Center App
- With Wacom Tablet Properties app open, select the Grip Pen option under Tool. If Grip Pen option under Tool is not available, you may have to physically touch the end of the grip pen to the Wacom graphic drawing monitor for the Grip Pen option to become available.
- Under the Calibrate tab, open the Monitor: drop down menu and select the Generic PnP Monitor 1 option
- Then click on the Calibrate button.
- The screen will become white and have a crosshair in the upper left corner. Touch the end of the grip pen to the center of the crosshairs and do this process for each corner of the monitor.
- When all four corners have been selected and you see the Calibration Complete screen, test the accuracy by touching the grip pen to the Wacom graphic drawing monitor surface.
- If calibration is accurate, click the OK button to save changes
- If the calibration is not accurate, select the Try Again button to recalibrate.
It is possible for the calibration to shift or be lost over time, so the calibration process may need to be repeated as needed.
